We’re currently in that lull between Apple events, as we wait for some highly anticipated product announcements to come from Cupertino later this month. But, in the mean time, there are still a few things to catch up on around the traps.
Apple running behind on the Intel to Apple Silicon transition
Over at MacDailyNews, it was noted that Apple’s two-year transition from Intel to Apple Silicon is now running about three months late. Of course, that could all change in the next couple of weeks but it’s officially more than three months after 22 June 2022, which is two years from when Apple announced the switchover.
iOS 16.0.3 is out
9to5Mac, and many others, report that iOS 16.0.3 is out with fixes for bugs affecting the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro camera and a few other fixes.
This is all part of the usual rush of updates that seems to follow every major release by Apple.
Malicious apps in the App Store
While Apple does a pretty good job of keeping malicious apps from the App Store, researchers from Meta (the company that owns Facebook) have managed to pump a bunch of dodgy apps into the App Store.
Macworld reports on this and has a list f the affected apps. If you have one of these apps, the advice is to delete them now.
