The iPhone 15 is rumoured to be getting some significant updates. Among them is the inclusion of UWB, or Ultra Wideband. This is a short-range communications protocol that allows devices that are in close proximity to communicate faster while using less energy than other protocols. This will be all about ensuring the Vision Pro and iPhone can work better together.
Ming-Chi Kuo s a well know supply chain analyst with a penchant for using that knowledge to understand what’s coming next to the Apple ecosystem. In a recent tweet, Kuo says the iPhone 15 will get UWB.
UWB is currently called the U1 chip in Apple devices. So, we can expect the U2 in the next iPhone. And unlike Apple last attempt to give U2 to everyone, this time we expect will be less backlash than the company faced in 2014.
