Whenever Apple releases updates to one of its operating systems, there are some devices that get left behind. And that’s the case with watchOS 10. While your older Apple Watch won’t stop working, it won’t get any new features. But if you want to keep running the latest version of watchOS you’ll need to ensure you have the following.

watchOS 10 will be available this spring as a free software update if you have an Apple Watch Series 4 or later paired with iPhone Xs or later, running iOS 17

Older Apple Watches will be stuck with watchOS 9 or older depending on their vintage.
