We are less than 24 hours from Apple’s Wonderlust event. And aside from being annoyed at how often autocorrect has changed the name of the event, we are also well into ‘last minute leak’ mode. The latest confirms a long-held expectation. The mute switch that has been part of every iPhone since 2007 will be replaced by a button.
The Action Button, assuming it gets the same name as the Apple Watch Ultra, is a customisable button that can be used to launch an app, open a specific Settings option you use frequently like Focus Mode, or even do something handy like turn on the flashlight.
The leak from Spigen was revealed in a tweet.
Apple’s goal of differentiating the iPhone Pro from the iPhone Pro is being supported by a number of other differences including the use of titanium to boost strength and reduce weight, improved screen tech that means the iPhone Pro may actually be slightly smaller than its lower cost sibling, and a faster processor.
And, if the image is accurate, that’s a nice use of orange as a highlight colour taking another design cue from the Apple Watch Ultra.
