Apple’s next iPhone launch won’t be the iPhone 17 (or iPhone 20 is you’re counting actual iPhone generations). It will be the iPhone SE 4 – a lower cost iPhone. We’ve looked at what Apple has in store for the iPhone SE 4 previously but allegedly leaked images of mockups of the newest iPhone have been published on X. Here’s what they tell us.
1. The Notch stays put
Contrary to expectations, it seems the iPhone SE 4 will come with the Notch and not the newer Dynamic Island. This lends further support to the theory that the iPhone SE 4 will be based on the iPhone 14 body.
2. A single camera and powerful internals
The iPhone SE 4 will have a single camera, ensuring its place as an entry-level iPhone. But it will have the A18 chip, an Apple-designed modem chip and 8GB RAM. This will mean it’s capable of running Apple Intelligence and gives Apple a chance to flex its muscles with the modem tech it put purchased from Intel back in 2019.
3. Materials
Apple will stick with the glass back and aluminium sides it used on iPhones for some time. That’s in keeping with their strategy to make the iPhone SE attractive – a glass back allows for many different color options – and utilise manufacturing processes and systems that are established and refined.
Mockups are created and distributed to case manufacturers, usually under strict embargo, so the supply chains for accessory makers can gear up for the are release and be ready on day one.
