A survey of senior IT leaders has found that enterprise Mac adoption is growing in large companies. This is largely driven by the Mac’s AI capability and perception that it is secure and energy efficient.
MacStadium carried out a survey of 300 CIOs from the USA. Its inaugural CIO Survey found that the traditional Mac sweet spots of creative projects and app development has expanded to other enterprise activities.
The survey found:
- 73% rely on Macs for AI processing
- 68% for iOS/macOS development
- 61% to build/test/deploy workflows
The surveyed CIOs reported:
- Better performance for dev/test workflows (64%)
- Improved employee satisfaction (63%)
- Enhanced integration with iOS/iPadOS workflows (58%).
Almost every CIO who responded to the survey said they would expand Mac adoption further if the company introduced more enterprise‑ready management solutions.
Apple has been pushing its enterprise credibility. Apple’s partnership with IBM, announced in 2023, has grown from a 2014 announcement. There’s also a growing ecosystem of apps and tools that support enterprise use of Apple gear in enterprises.
