Apple has been quietly adding new accessibility features to each generation of iOS. iOS 16 now allows you to control an Apple Watch, running watchOS 9, from your iPhone. Here’s how to do it.

What do you need?

For Apple Watch mirroring to wake, you need:

  1. An iPhone running iOS 16 or later
  2. An Apple Watch running watchOS 9 or later

How do you control your Apple Watch from your iPhone?

  1. On your iPhone, launch the Settings app.
  2. Scroll down to Accessibility and open it.
  3. Tap on Apple Watch Mirroring.
  4. Turn on Apple Watch Mirroring.

Once mirroring is enabled, you’ll see a blue border on your Apple Watch display and you’ll be able to tap and swipe your iPhone’s display to control the Apple Watch.
