It’s barely been a week since Developer Beta 5 was released but Apple has already released Developer Beta 6 of iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS Tahoe 26 and the rest of its suite of operating systems. As we get closer to the Release Candidate stage and then Gold Master releases, the changes are mainly bug fixes and tweaks.
Looking a the list of changes in the iOS and iPadOS 26 Beta 6 Release Notes, not much has been changed with many of the items listed there already touted in Developer Beta 5. And the same goes for macOS Tahoe 26.
What’s interesting is that many of the issues and new features included in iOS 16 and iPadOS 26 are the same as macOS Tahoe 26. This suggests the code bases for these platforms are very closely aligned. This makes sense when you consider the tight integration between Apple’s different apps and services.
As far as other changes go, MacRumors points out Liquid Glass on the iPhone has been changed in some places while 9to5Mac says the latest beta seems to make apps launch a little quicker – or, at least, the animations that accompany app launches have been sped up. And there are a few new ringtones as well.
As always, we don’t recommend updating to the developer or public beta on production systems just in case something goes haywire.
