Whether you’re ready to upgrade to macOS Tahoe 26 or plan to hang on to macOS 15 Sequoia, today is a big day. Apple has released software updates that will hit the majority of macOS users.

macOS Tahoe 26 is released

Plenty of ink and pixels have been spilled on all the things that come with macOS Tahoe 26. From the new Liquid Glass look through to more subtle changes like new icons, rounded corners and tweaks and changes to apps, this is one of the most significant macOS updates Apple has released.

Apple has published a list of over 200 changes [PDF] made to macOS in Tahoe.

As always, make sure you have a solid backup plan before you start the upgrade.

macOS Sequoia is updated to 15.7

If you don’t feel ready to move to macOS Tahoe 26, macOS Sequoia has also received an update.

macOS Sequoia 15.7 includes 34 security fixes covering a wide range of different services and subsystems.

If you are planning to hold back from installing macOS Tahoe 26, then we recommend updating to macOS Sequoia 15.7 so you haver the latest security updates.
